In partnership with the Newport Beach Restaurant Association, Dine Newport Beach continues to grow and gain exposure in both the OC and LA marketplace, and was thrilled to produce the ninth annual Newport Beach Restaurant Week event. (64) participating restaurants offered special menus at set prices for lunch and dinner from January 17 – February 1st. Lunches were available for just $10, $15, $20 and $25, and Dinners were offered for $20, $30, $40 and $50. Nearly a quarter of the participating restaurants were new to the event, which sparked increased buzz for Newport Beach Restaurant Week throughout Southern California.
Dine Newport Beach developed a robust marketing & PR campaign for the event that generated tremendous exposure for the participating restaurants and the Newport Beach culinary community. Restaurant Week was promoted throughout Southern California and featured on Fox 11’s Good Day LA, NBC4 Worth the Drive, on K-EARTH 101.1 radio, on the SoCal Restaurant Show and in a wide variety of Orange County newspapers, magazines and online food and lifestyle blogs. The campaign generated over 53 million impressions, and had a media value of $562,750.
In addition to all of the marketing, promotion and media exposure, participating restaurants experienced an increase in sales and new customers. Dine Newport Beach partner OpenTable reported a 106% increase in online bookings over the previous year, and declared that this year’s event was the most successful Newport Beach Restaurant Week in it’s nine year history.
Diners were thrilled with the wide variety of dining options and restaurants participating in the event. The majority of customers dining out during the event tried a new restaurant they had never been to, and 94% of diners reported that the event was of good to excellent value. 98% of diners reported that they would recommend Dine Newport Beach Restaurant Week to friends and family, and over the event dates, customers spent an estimated $4.67 million dollars in the participating restaurants.
Dine Newport Beach continues to actively promote the wide variety of local restaurants and foodservice establishments on a monthly basis through its monthly consumer newsletters, special offers, dining guides and events on it’s award winning webiste DineNB.com.
